Marteine is a dynamic and innovative social enterprise committed to advancing the academic success of youth in Ottawa, with a special focus on underserved and marginalized communities. Since our establishment in 2021, our mission has been to bridge the educational gap exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. We provide culturally responsive and personalized online tutoring sessions to boost students' confidence and engagement in their learning environments, ultimately leading to increased graduation rates. In a context where online learning has amplified existing inequalities, particularly for marginalized students, Marteine recognizes the interconnection between academic success, environmental factors, and cultural challenges.

Our approach prioritizes collaboration among parents, the school system, and the community, focusing on addressing students' individual needs in a non-judgmental support space tailored to their unique challenges and aspirations. Through partnerships with community organizations and school boards, we identify students who would benefit most from our tutoring services. We also offer tutoring independently of these partnerships at an affordable rate to ensure that youth not covered by these partnerships also have equal access to quality tutoring. By providing affordable options and creating different avenues for youth to work with us, we lessen the financial burden on families, ensuring our efforts are precisely targeted and aligned with the unique needs of both the students and the community.
